Step 1 Dial to the current code, pull out the shackle.
Step 2 Turn the shackle 90° counterclockwise to the code setting gap.
Step 3 Press the shackle down until the shackle pin is all the way inside the gap. Hold it until finishing step 4.
Step 4 Turn the shackle another 90° counterclockwise to the code line.
Step 5 Scroll the dials to set your own combination. Step 6 Turn the shackle back to code setting gap, lift it up and then back to the original position.

Great lock!
This lock was invaluable for a hike. It allowed me to either use without the cord or with. Enabled me to attach my backpack to items while I was walking the Camino de Santiago and needed to attach my backpack to something. Great Lock
This lock I purchased after having to return another. This one had a different locking mechanism and it works great. I gold the gold color and itâs beautiful on my luggsge.

Immediately upon opening, the 0000 combination does not work.
Immediately upon opening, the 0000 combination does not work. Cannot open this thing at all. I tried spinning each number all the way around both ways to 0, nothing. Nothing opens this. Itâs awful. Most negative reviews I see are not being used with common sense or the instructions were clearly not read. I read instructions and am often able to trouble shoot things. So this is not user error. It was unusable from the moment I touched it. I had been looking forward to using it. Very disappointed.
