I was pleasantly surprised by these travel locks. One of my usual annoyances with luggage locks is struggling to see the combination numbers without my reading glasses, but these locks have large, bright white numbers on a black background, making them easy to read. Setting my own unique 3-digit code was straightforward with the included instructions. Unlike many locks, these can click closed even with the correct combination set, preventing them from falling off when not in use, which is a nice touch. Another feature I appreciate is the red popup button that indicates if the lock was opened with a TSA key, reassuring me of the security measures. Although I haven’t tested this feature myself, it gives me peace of mind knowing my belongings are secure. The locks feel sturdy with a solid zinc alloy case and a heavyweight carbon steel shackle that seems durable enough for rough baggage handling. They are slightly heavier than expected, adding some weight to my bag, but the quality and added security features justify the slight inconvenience. Overall, despite being a bit pricier than other models, the build quality and extra security measures make them worth the investment, especially when traveling with valuable items.I ordered these locks with some hesitation due to shipping delays, but they arrived just in time for my trip. SURE LOCK TSA Locks for Luggage, TSA Approved Luggage Locks with Open Alert, TSA008
Locks seem solidly built, but are larger than expected and rather heavy at 65g – three of them on a bag adds 7 oz. of weight. The shackle is also too large for some smaller bag zipper closures, though fine for most checked bags. A pointy tool like a small screwdriver is needed for setting the combination. It’s not difficult, but not intuitive the first time.I may update this review after a few trips if there are any issues with durability.

Solid Construction and easy to read.
One problem I have with most of the travel locks I have had in the past is I usually have to pull out my readers to see the numbers in the combination. That is not a problem here as the numbers are larger and bright white on black. The included instructions explain programming your own unique 3-digit code. There are also several features I have not typically experienced with luggage locks. First off, unlike many combination locks these can click close even with the correct combination in place so that they don’t fall off when you leave them just hanging on the zipper. A slight pull will open them. Another feature I like is there is a red popup button on the top of the lock that pops up if the lock is opened by a TSA key. It only goes back down when the combination is used. I have to take their word for this as I do not have a TSA key. Which brings me to the other feature I like. This is using a newer TSA key. I assume this makes it less likely that someone not authorized to open the lock doesn’t have a key that will fit. While these are a little pricier than many models, I do believe the features and quality warrant the difference which if you buy in quantity becomes very little.

Quality Travel Locks
As travel locks go, these are pretty good ones. Mind you, even the best ones are easily cut and they are not too hard to open either by picking or decoding the combo. But as with much in security, anything that causes a bad guy to decide that your bag is more difficult to open than that other one over there has done it’s job.These locks are reasonably robust (for their size) and the numbers (white on black) are very easy to read (this is the reason I am replacing some older TSA lockss — silver on silver is not a good combination for these old eyes to see.) These locks are a little more complex to change the combo than most that I have usedi the past, but the instructions make it easy to accomplish. These locks use the TSA008 key to open using a key. This is a newer style of TSA master key that is not as commonly available as some of the other older keys.

Easy to reset lock
Like another reviewer, I had to wait weeks for this lock to actually arrive.It is a substantial lock, and by that, I mean heavy.Having had several locks like this, I was impressed that it was easy to reset the combination (I could actually reset the combination a second time without even having to consult the instructions), and also, pleased that the numbers were easy to see.Like most locks like this, it won’t stop a dedicated thief, but it will certainly make a thief look for something that requires less effort.

Great Locks but Extremely Slow Delivery
I ordered these locks for an upcoming trip and itâs a good thing I ordered far in advance. I was not sure they would arrive in time, it took over two weeks to receive them. They were delivered just in the nick of time! The locks are nice and quality-made. The zinc alloy case is solid and substantial, I believe it will withstand rough baggage handling. The carbon steel shackle is heavyweight and not likely to bend. The combination is easy to reset but definitely read and follow directions because steps are very specific. I love the red popup indicator button that alerts you if the lock was opened with a key by TSA. I also like that the lock must be relocked by TSA before they can remove their key, assuring that my bag arrives secured. The button resets when you open your lock with the correct combination. The numbers are easy to read and rotate smoothly. These are good locks and Iâm very happy with them. But if you need locks, order early!
