TRY IT if you’re Outdoorsy/Hiking/Camping! (If You’ve Had Issues with DEET as I Had)
Since trying this I wish I discovered it sooner. TLDR: as a mosquito magnet myself, I have found this to be MORE effective and much longer lasting, less irritating and stinky than DEET. Does NOT destroy and dissolve synthetic plastics UNLIKE DEET! Does not negatively impact effectiveness of Sunscreen and cause the Chemicals to leech into your skin (also unlike DEET) and best of all is NON GREASY, NON OILY (it feels like applying a neutral moisturizing lotion vs. a volatile stinky solvent like DEET.picaridin has a very faint pepper-ish scent from the Piperidine derive) better for me than concentrated DEET formulas around 40%, have even tried 99% DEET which was no better than 40% and dissolved a hole in my bag. I have the Blood-Type or Sweat that attracts Mosquitos like a Magnet, DEET requires reapplication nearly constantly when sweating to remain effective for me (esp in humid areas, live on east coast NA). DEET feels awful on skin, it stinks, and if you have a bottle tip over in your bag or expensive ultralight camping gear, it will destroy and dissolve holes in polymers with ease.Conversely, despite being a profuse sweater due to consuming lots of liquids to stay hydrated, this stuff seems to remain effective far longer and resist running off in sweat than DEET. I also wear contacts and a major pain with DEET was running off in sweat from forehead area, into eyes and causing intensely painful burning. While picaridin can cause temp burning if you get it in eyes as well, I havent found it to dissolve so readily in sweat to be as irritating as deet. DEET would also inflame prior insect bites or skin blemishes and feels irritating in general.I still reapply a light layer to extremities on hot days every 8ish hrs or so, but on more average, breezy, or cloudy days this stuff lasts the 12+ hrs as advertised easily. I HIGHlY recommend giving this a try. Frankly I’m not sure why DEET is still the most widely carried by far with how volatile, stinky and unpleasant it is to deal with when there’s compounds like this which appear to be equally if not more effective with far fewer side effects.

Best for mine and my sons reactions
Our household has blood type O positive which is like all you can drink champagne for the skeeters! I feel that this has given me the best coverage so far. I love gardening down here in Texas and have heard a few mosquito viruses pop up here recently as well. I thought to try something different since I was getting bit through my jean pockets and underwear even with the traditional sprays on. I also don’t like spraying my son with the sprays because we both end up breathing it in. I feel like with this lotion form I got a more uniform product on my body. I applies it all where I could under my clothes AND I saw a good few mosquitos hover around me but none on me *dance emoji* I will be purchasing my second bottle shortly!

    Outdoor mosquito repellent
Outdoor mosquito repellent, a little oily, not very good taste, a small bottle, effective, but not as long lasting

    It actually works!
I have never ever written a review before. But I will for this. I live in DC and summers for me are miserable bc mosquitoes LOOOOVE me. I decided to try this because I was tired of my “summer perfume” being off spray. It stinks. This is a miracle! I use it as lotion AND it keeps away bugs. Score on both. I’m about to order another bottle. I’ve had MAYBE one bite all year so far! It is a bit greasy at first but I get over that for the protection. Just being honest. Otherwise 5 stars all the way

    Best thing I’ve ever purchased
I’ve used it every single time I’ve gone outside. There isn’t a chemically scent, but there is a slight feeling that you have bug spray on, but not enough for you to not use it. I will say if you come in contact with water, it will wash it off. So definitely reapply! Love this lotion so much I also bought their larger size with a pump nozzle and use it to refill the 4 oz bottle so it can travel with me!

    Wow!
I have no idea how this works so well without having a scent but holy smokes it does! In the muggy, buggy spring of Georgia this kept the little pests at bay. We were getting eaten up when we used other bug repellents so we took a gamble on this one. Soooo glad we did! I will continue to repurchase this from now on.

    Sawyer Picaridin Insect Repellent
The label says only apply at most twice a day and not under clothing- after reading the warnings about eye damage it’s a little daunting- no instructions how to apply The no see ums go under your clothing gave 3 stars because of the vague instructions (after peeling back the label)

This has saved me from mosquitos!
Mosquitos love me. Period. I hate DEET and other repellents. So I tried this. It is like putting on regular lotion. There is mild scent initially, but that goes away. Then stays on and repels the bugs! I have not gotten one bite when using this. I will say, it is just a tiny bit sticky, but a lot of regular lotions are also sticky, so I can live this this. Thanks Sawyer for a great product!!!

I’ll keep this as short as possible. I hate Deet spray, it is nauseating, oily and damages plastics. The citric bug spray is a scam.In comparison this stuff works great. Has a very mild smell, is non oily and gets easy coverage. I’m not gonna lie though, there are a fair amount of safety warnings on the bottle so I do wonder how often we should use any of these repellents. But, if like me you are a paradise for bug biters, this is the stuff to get. I was out on a rainy muggy day in the woods and was not bit once nore any time after while wearing it.

For years and years, whenever I’ve travelled to a country where there have been mosquitos, I have been a target for them. Where previously I used to put on Deet also and wear long clothing, this has worked so well that I’ve been able to keep wearing shorts in the heat and go out at night.I found the best results for me were gained by applying in the late afternoon before dinner and I would be fine all the way through until the following afternoon. This is now an essential packing item for me and is more important than sunscreen as it provides me with more benefit (easy to stay out of the sun).If you’ve had problems with being a target of bites in the past, I would definitely recommended trying this, and it has been so effective that other family members that are normally ‘safe’ when I’m around have been getting bites instead.

Used this daily in Vietnam during January. It didn’t stink or feel clammy, which is important in a hot country! Didn’t get bitten very much, maybe just a handful of times so I think it worked mostly. Although I did get one ferocious bite that got infected, but antibiotics are cheap there too and available over the counter.Wish I was still in Vietnam…

Mosquitoes didn’t seem to bite us with this insect repellent on our skins, we used this last year and we will be using it again when we visit Thailand again this year.. Great product for us…
