Like most other travel adapters, this one is also a “plug adapter”, meaning that it just enables you to plug your device to the local AC outlets without making any changes in the electricity (in other words no voltage conversion) of the outlet. But that is still helpful with a lot of devices such as laptops, phone chargers, etc. Just make sure that your deviceâs voltage range is within what is rated for local AC outlets.This travel adapter is a single piece item that contains 4 different types of AC plugs (EU, UK, USA, and AUS) both on the input side and on the output side. So basically, you can use devices with any of these plugs on the outlets of any of these types, provided that your device’s voltage range is compatible with the AC outlet’s. Note that while some adapters use the same slider for both the USA (or rather, “North American”) and Australian plugs with the two metal plug heads being slightly rotated to fit either standard, this one uses separate sliders and metal plugs for the two. As a result, there are 4 outlet plug selection sliders as opposed to 3 in some other travel adapters.You do not need to carry any adapter pieces with it, all is in the adapter itself. The AC plugs can be pulled out using the sliders on the side. Unlike some other adapters, this one has a single common locking mechanism for the sliders. No matter which slider button is used for the appropriate plug, the slider mechanism is released (unlocked) by the press of the same button to have the plug retracted back in. You should also note that while both the input and output plugs seem to offer a grounded prong (in North American standards, three-prong plugs, as opposed to two-prong), the ground prongs or slots are “dummy” ones. In other words, you can still connect your devices that have grounded plugs (such as three-prong plugs of North America), but they will not actually be grounded. This is something common with nearly all travel adapters, but it is still a small safety problem. And kudos to the seller to point this out in the user manual.The adapter is quite sturdy, and there is absolutely no “tingling” parts inside when you shake it. The body seems to be strong enough to take blows or survive drops. It has 2 x USB-A ports and 2 x USB-C port. Note that similar to other adapters, the more devices you connect to USB ports, the less power per port you can get as the total power limit is shared by those ports. While a single USB connection can do fast charging, if you connect all 4 USB ports, it is likely that your charging speed will be slower than regular charging. The adapter also has an 8A fuse as well as a spare one.The last, but not the least, the price of this adapter is at $30 CAD (minus an $6 coupon) at the time of writing which seems to be a good price point.Overall, it is a good and compact travel adapter. Remember that it does not contain a voltage converter, so mind your device’s voltage ratings before using this to connect it to the local AC outlets. It has everything needed in a single body which is naturally not very small, but it still feels lightweight. If you don’t need voltage conversion, I can recommend it. I have another universal travel adapter WITH voltage conversion, but had that for quite a higher price. Most of the items you pack for travel should be fine in terms of voltage range, travel adapters with voltage conversion are both rare and more expensive. A range of color options is a plus, although it has nothing to do with the functioning of the adapter.
